Meaning – By purifying the mirror of my mind with the dust of the lotus feet of Shri Guru Maharaj, I describe the pure fame of Shri Raghuveer (Shri Ram), who is the giver of all the four fruits – Dharma, Artha, Kama, and Moksha.

Meaning – Hey, Pawan Kumar! I worship you, as I am low in wisdom. Give me physical strength, wisdom, and knowledge. Also, destroy my sorrow and evil.

Meaning ॥1॥ – Shri Hanuman ji! Hail thee. Your knowledge and virtues are immeasurable (like the ocean). Hey Kapishwar! The three worlds are illuminated by your fame.

Meaning ॥2॥ Hey Ramdoot! There is no one else as strong as you. You are known in the world as Anjani Nandan, Pawansut.

Akbar once summoned Goswami ji to his court and asked him to introduce me to Lord Shriram. Then Tulsidas ji said that Lord Shri Ram gives darshan only to his devotees. On hearing this, Akbar got Goswami Tulsidas ji imprisoned.

In prison, Goswami ji wrote Hanuman Chalisa in the Awadhi language. As soon as the work of writing Hanuman Chalisa was completed, monkeys surrounded Fatehpur Sikri and attacked it. Akbar’s army also failed to stop the menace of monkeys. Then Akbar accepted the advice of a minister and freed Tulsidas ji from prison. The monkeys left the entire area as soon as Tulsidas ji was released from prison.
