History of Naulakha Mandir Deoghar

At an early age, Rani Charushila of Pathuria Ghat lost her husband Akshay Ghosh, and son Jatindra Ghosh. Grieved by the deaths, she was very depressed and felt lonely and left her home in search of peace.

She came to Karnibad in Deoghar to meet Saint Balanand Brahmachari and stayed in Balanand Brahmachari’s ashram. Later she accepted the discipleship of Balananda Brahmachari.

Sri Balananda Brahmachari preached and was able to calm her and advised her to build a temple.  She later sanctioned Rs. 9 Lakh for the construction of the temple as it stands today. It was quite an outstanding amount of donations in 1940 during the time it was built.
